Paul Tanner Associates has two senior staff and a team of engineers and technicians that give us access to a wide range of skills and expertise to suit any project large or small.


Paul Tanner

Principal

Graduated from City University, London in 1976 and became a Chartered Member of Institutions of Civil Engineers and Structural Engineers in 1981, becoming a Fellow of Institution of Structural Engineers in 1991.

Paul worked for Kenchington Little & Partners, Scott-White & Hookins and then Anthony Ward Partnership before setting up his own practice in 1999.

Experience in wide variety of structures and buildings, including buildings in France and Germany and special interest in historic structures


Martin Kirby

A chartered civil engineer with over 25 years experience in civil and structural engineering design and project management on a wide range of projects from concept to construction.

Martin worked with Gifford for 19 years and has also worked for Atkins and WSP. Over the past 5 years he has concentrated on conservation in historic civil and structural engineering.

He gained the Architectural Association Postgraduate Diploma in Building Conservation in 2004 and has become an Accredited Conservation Engineer under the ICE / IStructE CARE scheme.
